Do you need to make an appointment for makeup events at Nordstrom?

There is a MAC makeup event coming up at Nordstrom and I want to get some stuff. (And free samples haha.) It says that you should “call your favorite MAC counter today to book your appointment”. Is that really necessary? Or can you just walk in and have them do your makeup and everything?

    welllllll me and my cousin wanted to get our makeup done by MAC and they had the same thin going on at Nordys. but they said that we had to buy like 50.00 worth of makeup there..so …..we didn’t do it. so i guess the appointment isn’t necessary.

    Events at Nordstrom are just really crowded, and they’ll probably do makeovers for the people who spend some money on their new products. They’re having an event for the new “N” line, it’s a bunch of neutral browns. So I doubt you have to actually book an appointment, but I also doubt you’ll get your makeup done over someone who’s buying something.
    But free samples, why not, they ARE promoting, haha.
