The creation of digital video is a comparatively simple process in theory. Digital video or still shots are captured when an array of light sensitive photo sensors capture a mosaic of light values, so to speak, and convert them into data that a computer can process and we in turn could understand. However, the actual execution of this process is an extremely technical undertaking and can be quite complicated. Its main advantage over analog video is the low cost, coupled with the lossless quality of the data being captured by the camera.
