Why not take them to your dry cleaner? Most of them do alterations as well.

It is not so bad when you consider that few stores sell those jeans and the stores that do often due the alterations for free. So you really want to take a pair of jeans you paid $150 at a discount store to someone who might have never seen a pair? Might sound silly but why take a chane when those jean retail from $200 to $300. Plus they do something called a tricky hem which keeps the orginal hem while making them shorter.
