Chinese rugs are a distinct category of oriental rugs. These rugs have a distinct and unique look associated with them. They come in the most unusual hues and have a color scheme that is highly varied from the typical oriental rugs. These rugs are embellished with ornate designs and motifs but none of these are similar to other designs. The designs and motifs in these rugs are stand alones and do not combine to be a part of a big design that is the central theme of the rugs. The Chinese rugs have more of a symbolic meaning than a decorative value.
