Young people are by and large, the primary market for cellular ringtones all over the world today, and they are also the primary market for music, in general. It is interesting to note that cellular ringtones are actually a form of mobile music, just like the music that we download onto our iPods and other mobile mp3 players. Why is it then that the market for cellular ringtones continues to grow while sales of legal music continues to shrink? The need for self expression seems to be very, very powerful indeed.
